I have a neon light tube, but it doesn't seem to have any wires in it. How do I light it up?
It's literally just one tube, as I think the rest was broken. Still, I want to light it up just for the sake of it. But how? There is no wire connected to it at all, and I'm pretty certain there never was... It doesn't look as if it was broken or anything. So how do I get it to light?
A neon light doesn't use wires to light up. It lights by ionizing a gas inside the tube. This requires a high voltage. There should be some sort of metal connection on the ends of the tube. If there are no metal connections you won't be able to make it light. Some more details on the description of the tube would help. Depending on the neon tube, it can take from 65 volts for a small neon bulb to several thousand volts for a neon tube like you see in store signs.

Stanford celebrates completion of world's most powerful X-ray laser
The Linac Coherent Light Source creates unique light that can see the size of atoms and watch processes that occur in less than one-tenth of a trillionth of a second. Secretary of Energy Steven Chu and others came to Stanford Monday to celebrate its completion.
